Prince George Weekend
You may remember back a while I mentioned the pine beetle devastation. Here is a small sample of what is happening. There are whole stand of dead trees all over the place.

Fairhaven B&B has a small cabin as well as the usual house rooms. We stayed in this little one with a view over Tabor Lake. Very quiet, very relaxing.

Sue's branch in PG. She will be sad to give it up, they don't want to see her leave.

There were several thing working against my attempts at taking pictures out the airplane window. I was over the wing which therefore blocked any views directly below. The sun was shining on my side of the plane, reflecting off both the wing and the window, and there was a fair amount of cloud. The shot below shows Quesnel with the Fraser River winding through town.
This is a shot of the Fraser taken through a hole in the clouds as it winds it's way down the Interiou Plateau.
No where in particular, just an interesting play of sky, cloud and airplane wing.
The clouds opened up a bit as we neared the coast. Down below is our playground. That's the Upper Squamish River where the Elaho empties in from the valley in the lower right. The Squamish valley is lost in the distance.
Our flight path took us just west of Alfa and the Tantalus Range. Our home is in the valley beyond that pointed peak. Garibaldi is hidden behind those clouds beyond.
Here's a neat view from above of the mountains!
Here we can look right up Howe Sound. Garibaldi is just left of the wing tip and Watt's Point appears to extend across the Sound. But it doesn't. The glare of the sun on the window makes everything look hazy.
I took other pictures but there was too much glare in them to be worth showing.
