Driving Back
From Breakfast In Whistler
March 30/08
We popped up to Whistler for breakfast as we often do on a nice sunny Sunday morning. Not quite biking weather up that way so we went in Sue's nice new Camry. Now, what you need to understand is that I simply snapped some shots out through the car windows, said windows being a bit dirty from rain and road construction making the pics a bit on the dirty side.
I took the pictures as we drove south from Whistler on our way back to Squamish. First shot is the highway as it climbs up Powerline Hill.

Here we've come past Daisy Lake and are now dropping down toward Brandywine with the train tracks and lava flow rocks along the road. Most of this highway is under construction as they gear up for 2010.

Here's Sue at the wheel. She wasn't too happy about me taking this shot. See, I told you the windows were dirty.

This is in the area known as 'The Canyon' with the Tantalus Range out to the right. We are in the shadow of some high cliffs that were blasted into the side of the mountain for the road cut.

This shot is out through the side window, of the Tantalus Range. Its a long way down off the highway into that canyon below.

At this point along the way we are decending toward BOB. Thats Goat Ridge above Britannia in the far background.

Just coming up on the lower Tantalus lookout. Warren's place would be high above us on the left.

A view looking north back toward Whistler with Cloudbust in the left background.

The view of the Squamish valley from the lower lookout.

Oops, took a pic of my feet. Oh well, how do you like our Harley floor mats.? Wouldn't need them if I could remember to wipe my feet.

This section of highway is just north of the Alice Lake turnoff, thats Alfa in mid picture. At this point we are only a few minutes from being back home.
