Abover The Mashiter Creek - April 21/07
For this run we headed up into the Mashiter Creek drainage basin, which is just up in-behind where I live, on the south western slopes of Mt Garibaldi. There has been some clear-cutting going on in some of the areas that are out of sight from the town. This whole outing was within spitting distance of Squamish. Here's a shot looking through a cut section out toward the Sound.
I've taken this shot before but each time it's a bit different. We are up a side spur, just under the Garibaldi Park road. That's the Chief on the left and Watt's Point sticking out into Howe Sound.
Here are the bikes in one of the cut areas, mine and Warren's. That's Mt Mulligan on the right and the Raffuse Creak valley in mid picture.
Another view out throught the trees. Cutting sure opens things up. This spot is actually up above the new university site which would be down and to the right.
These are new logging roads being pushed into the trees just behind the ridge across from my house. Ug !! But is does make for nice riding.
