April 22/06 - Mt Kayley
Just a nice view through the trees of the mountain tops. This is from the microwave tower above Hut Lake.

A peek at a peak across Hut Lake. There are some private cottages along the far shore.

Part way up the trai toward Kayley. The valley opens out below us and the snowfields cover the Tantalus Range. You can see a high waterfall in mid right picture through the branches of that small pine. The waterfall would be hundreds of feet high and there is no way of actually getting to it.

Looking in the other direction, Kayley waits for us. She is heavy with snow.

Looking back to the south again, you can see where avalanches have slid down into that bowl leaving a grey-blue path of disturbed snow.

A bit closer now to Keyley. There is a deep rugged canyon between us and the mountain face.

We sat an watched dozens of avalanches on those slopes and ridges. They gave off a sound like a busy thunderstorm.

Just another view of the Tantalus from above Hut Lake. I could have left this one out. Face it, once you've seen one mountain you've seen them all ;)
