Gary Comes Out For Some Biking Up Into The Kayley Area
May 31/08

I promised my brother Gary from back east that if he ever came out her for a visit that we would do some dirt biking up into the mountains. He came, so I took him. We off-loaded at the end of pavement at Mile 19 on the Upper Squamish and rode the Mine up to the Kayley spur. This is spur is relatively easy to ride so up we went. We got up a good distance but were stopped by a tree over the trail the we couldn't get over or around. First picture is Gary as we stopped at a lookout that has a view out over the valley.

Here are the two trusty old '86 dirt bikes. Both still chugging away.

Same view of the valley but from higher up.

Here's Gary standing by the Honda. This is his first biking run into an area like this and he is enjoying it.

There has been some logging up here and we got as far as a tree over the road. We parked the bikes had hiked on up a click of so to a good lookout area, up ahead in this pic.

Another shot with Kayley in the background.

Here's the old fart (me) with my back to the valley below. The Squanish turns to the right and the Elaho goes on straight behind me.
