Indian Arm Revisited
July 31/05

We finally got back over the Indian Arm Pass. The many unpassable slides that had taken out the road in numerous places have been patched up a bit. They are now at least passable. I took the pictures on the ride back rather than the ride out. It was a hot, dust and scenic ride. The tide was out but as we ate our lunches we watched as the mudflats began to flood. The tide was on it's way back in.

The picture above and the picture below were taken from the same spot, one looking out, the other looking inland. That is the Indian River flowing through the tidle interface.

This is a couple of clicks up-streem. Can't see it in the picture but there was a large school of fish milling around just under the surface.

Ryan, all covered in dust, contemplating a cold dip. Didn't do it, this water is very icy.

There were 5 of us on the run, hence the 5 bikes parked on the sandbar.

Camera's can't do it. The river rushes over huge boulders, cutting bowls with it's swerling turbulent water.

Looking back out toward the Arm and the valley we just rode through.

One of the many slide areas. Fixed up now but totally un-passable a short time ago. The rains of last winter had done a real demolition job to this road.
