Furry Creek - Our First Back Road Toot Of The Season
March 13 / 08

After a long dark and snowy winter we finally got out on our dirt bikes for a short toot. Warren has been out checking the snowline and I've been out riding the 'around town' streets but this was our first run up into the back country. Because of that low snowline we couldn't get very far into the back country but its a start.

We off-loaded at the gate by the Furry Creek Golf Course and headed up the logging road. A spur line took us over the ridge to where we could look through the trees and down onto Britannia Beach.

The bike is parked where we can walk around a bit and enjoy the outing.

This is something that never stops amazing me. Those huge coastal trees are growning right out of the rock. Their roots seem to be able to fine and follow the smallest of cracks.

This lookout gave us a view over Howe Sound to the icefields up in behind Woodfiber.

There were many places where I could have taken some nice shots but I forgot to pack fresh batteries. After my 3rd shot the camera died. I was able to squeeze 1 more shot by warming the cameral inside my jacket.
