Winter in the Mountains.

Winter usually stays higher up in the mountains and leaves the coastal areas alone. But sometimes it fools everyone and makes an unexpected visit.

This is what Warren had to clean up after our dumping in late February. He uses an old Uni-mog (kind of a German army truck turned snowplow) to open up his yard and road.

You can see the snow depth by the way it covers his pickup. This is a normal coastal mountain snowfall, just not normal at this altitude.

Here is his log home. The chalet is up on that ridge behind the house. And yes, the snowflakes are as big as they appear in the picture.
