Brohm
Ridge Adventure
We are on top of Brohm Ridge. This time it was not foggy but clear with unlimited visibility. There is a 360 degree vista, mountains and valleys in every direction. The top of the ridge is a mix of alpine tree clusters, mountain heather and shattered rock. Just under the surface soil is permafrost.
Brohm is a high alpine ridge extending out from the west side of the peak area of Garibaldi Mountain. The peaks and high slopes hang over the ridge like a sky scrapper hangs over a city street.
The clear air (and camera lens) distort the sense of distance. Those snowfields could be 30 miles away.
Here is the Black Tust, an old volcanic core that is south of Whistler. It is probably about 10 miles north of our location.
A view south out over the Sound.
Rest stop on the moon scape of the ridge's backbone. That white and blue bike was about to begin it's missadventureous afternoon.
