Up On Brohm - On a Quad - On Tracks
Feb. 3/10

Went up onto Brohm Ridge with Warren on his track equippted quad. It will go ALMOST anywhere a snowmobile will go, just not as fast. Here we are up on a lower ridge as we head for the top.

There were times up on top where a dull overcast would move creating visibility problems. There would be zero definition over the unbroken snow making it impossible to see the surface. Couldn't tell up, down, cross-slope or even see deep bowls in the snow. Interesting times, had to be very carefull.

Warren tried to climb a long steep slope that snowmobilers were managing to conquer. They can wind up a lot more speed than a quad can... Warren made it about half way (a couple hundred feet) befor loosing momentum and coming to a stop after which he had to back down to the bottom. The only place a snowmobile can go that the quad can't is where the inertia of high speed is needed.

A last look around before heading back down.
