Anderson Lake run, June 24/06
A short while ago Warren
was in the Anderson Lake area. That adventure can be seen at:

We decided it would make for a nice
ride to head back up that way. Ryan couldn't make it this time
but Jason could so we loaded their two bikes plus mine into the
back of Warren's truck and headed up to D'Arcy. That is the 'Wild
Wood Shelter' in the background.
Here we are on an open section of the McGillivery Pass line. Up ahead the road would become impassible.
Anderson Lake, looking toward D'Arcy.
The Marne shack. There are interesting old pictures on the walls inside. Note the scar on the mountain slope in the far right. A huge section of that slope has given way, leaving a big hole up there and a pile of rock sticking out of the water.
Only reason I can figure for this shack being there is that the rail line doubles here for a short section. This may have been where the person that worked the track switch hung out.

Looking southeast along the tracks.

Looking toward Seton Portage.
Back up on the main, there was a spot where I could see the Marne shack beside the track down below.
Anderson Lake below, Seton Lake beyond.
On the spur up to Whitcap Mt, looking back at Anderson.

A bit closer to Seton Lake, showing the corridor of land that separates the two lakes.
